The action entitled “Development – Expansion – Upgrade of Infrastructure in Research Centers under the supervision of the GSRI” aims to support the strategic priorities of Research and Technological Institutions supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI), while enhancing their developmental trajectory and the quality of the products and services they offer.
The main objective of the action is to develop the infrastructure of the country’s Research and Technological Institutions, strengthen research capacity, and potentially exploit the outcomes of high-level scientific and research projects. The ultimate goal is the strategic growth and competitiveness of the supervised institutions and the preservation of their high standards in their respective research domains.
The action supports the following key strategic priorities:
- Strengthening the research infrastructure across the national research ecosystem.
- Creating an environment that fosters innovation within the supervised Research and Technological Institutions.
- Enhancing the position of GSRI-supervised institutions within the European and international research landscape.
The total budget for the project amounts to € 5.9 million. Growthfund’s Project Preparation Facility (PPF) has conducted 9 tenders — 7 of which have been completed, totaling €28.3 million, 2 worth €25.73 million are currently under evaluation, and 1 additional tender with a budget of €11.86 million is pending.
The project is implemented under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, with funding from the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
