Project Snapshot
- Budget: €105,600,000 (incl. VAT)
- Duration: Until 31.12.2025
- Funding: 100% funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF)
Purpose
The project aims to enhance energy efficiency in businesses, reduce primary energy consumption and CO² emissions respectively.
Impact
Participating businesses receive support to install energy-efficient equipment, including:
- Heat pump systems (including solar thermal add-ons and thermal storage).
- Solar heating systems.
- Smart energy monitoring devices.
- Other energy-saving systems for production, storage, distribution, and overall operations.
A key target is to achieve at least a 30% reduction in CO² emissions, either across the entire business or per intervention. The programme contributes to national energy and climate goals (ESEK), lowers energy costs, and reduces reliance on fossil fuels.
Beneficiaries
Businesses in the secondary and tertiary sectors. Investments are expected to positively impact economic growth, sustainability, and the green transition.
Role of Growthfund’s PPF Unit
The Project Preparation Facility (PPF) supports the project’s design, coordination, and implementation through technical assistance provided to the Ministry of Environment and Energy. This includes advisory services for project design, development, management, and oversight.
The action is part of Greece’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” and is funded by the EU’s NextGenerationEU initiative.
