It aims to upgrade the quality of life for residents by restoring green public space and enhance Thessaloniki\u2019s competitiveness as a destination for conferences, exhibitions, and events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Features<\/strong><br \/>\nThe redevelopment includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction of modern exhibition and conference facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of a large metropolitan park (~100,000 m\u00b2), with 60% of the area becoming public green space.<\/li>\n<li>Development of a business center, hotel, and underground parking spaces.<\/li>\n<li>Implementation in accordance with the approved Special Spatial Plan (\u0395\u03a0\u03a3).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Delivery Model<\/strong><br \/>\nThe project will be implemented as a public-private partnership (PPP) through a long-term concession.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The concession will be governed by Law 4413\/2016.<\/li>\n<li>An open tender process will be conducted by Growthfund\u2019s Project Preparation Facility (PPF), on behalf of TIF-HELEXPO (Contracting Authority).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expected Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Urban regeneration: A once-fenced area becomes accessible public green space.<\/li>\n<li>Traffic decongestion: Via construction of underground parking.<\/li>\n<li>Tourism boost: With a stronger focus on business tourism, extending the tourist season.<\/li>\n<li>Enhanced services: Central location enables high-quality services and seamless logistics for events.<\/li>\n<li>Local economic impact: Strengthened role of Thessaloniki and Northern Greece as economic hubs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Budget &amp; Financing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total project cost: approx. \u20ac300 million (excl.
